After running for a few weeks in some v good but v fashionable Nike it was time to go to a running shop. (Went to one recommended by a friend who knew what she was talking about.)
This experience could have been make or break - the women there were brilliant and really, really helpful. I was fitted with my new trainers (after trying 9 pairs) and felt like I was walking on air. Also got water bottle (implies long runs will be part of my future), running jacket, and the all important watch.
Went for run, felt brilliant, shoes did their thing v well. Ran all the way to the seal colony - half way round the course. I couldn't have IMAGINED doing that a few weeks ago! :)
